Nike 3ON3 Code of Conduct
Athletics are a valuable way to enhance a person's physical, intellectual and emotional well-being. Athletics offer an outlet for individuals to exert positive energy in an environment that is both fun and competitive. We invite you to play hard and play fair; to enjoy the game, regardless of the end result; to try your best and be proud of your efforts; to appreciate your teammates and opponents and their performances; and to recognize that court monitors and other volunteers are giving their best so you may enjoy your basketball experience. Athletics can produce a winning feeling in all of us. Every player who demonstrates good sportsmanship is a winner. Nike 3ON3 officials love to see teams playing well together, and we thoroughly believe in fairness, fun and following the rules.
Divisions/Bracketing
Overview
You must select a division and competition level when you register your team. When all entries are received and processed, Nike Basketball 3ON3 will place your team in an appropriate bracket within your division, based on your team's profile. See below to learn about what division and competition level is right for your team.
Choose Your Division
Adult Elite Division ($200)
This division is designed to attract the most talented teams from Los Angeles and around the country. Teams will be bracketed without regard to the age, height, or experience level of individual players. Male teams whose players are all 6 feet tall and shorter will automatically be placed in the Men's 6 Foot and Under Division and each of those players WILL BE MEASURED (players on a 6 foot and under team who measure over 6 foot will NOT be allowed on that team)

Bracketing Basics
Build Your Own Bracket
Do you want to know what your competition is before you even get to the streets? If so, then PLAN IT by building your own bracket! Simply sign up for your regular Nike Basketball 3ON3 non-elite division. Then round up either 7 or 15 more registered Nike Basketball 3ON3 teams you want to play against and who agree to play against you. We will then give you your own bracket. To create your own bracket, you must provide us with the following information by emailing us at info@registration.nike3ON3.com on or before June 30. The team name, team number, contact person, email address and phone number for either the 8 or 16 teams in your BYO bracket. Make sure all of the teams in your BYO bracket have signed up for Nike Basketball 3ON3 by the published deadlines.
Team Name
Your team name must be 20 characters or less and consist of letters only. Nike Basketball 3ON3 reserves the right to reject any name deemed to be inappropriate. Team names that have been rejected will be replaced by the listed captain's last name. (For example, if the team name has been rejected and the captain's name is Carl Jones, the new team name will be defaulted to JONES).
Age
Nike 3ON3 will bracket school-aged teams based on player grades, not ages, for the 2012-2013 school year. Teams are allowed to have players of mixed grades and will be placed appropriately.
For non-Elite Division post high school aged teams, the following ranges will be used as a guideline to bracket teams: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50 and over.
Gender
Co-ed teams must have one male participant and one female participant on the court at all times. Any team containing both male and female players must sign up as a co-ed team. Adult Elite division teams may not be co-ed.
Height
Player height, especially pertaining to the tallest player on each team, is important in determining team brackets. Nike Basketball 3ON3 will offer 6 foot and under brackets in most cases. Unfortunately, many players choose to misrepresent their height on their entry forms. These players need to understand that if their actual height differs from what they indicated on their entry forms, they will be immediately disqualified from the tournament.
Experience
Tell us what you've been doing this past year, as well as if you've ever played at such levels as high school varsity or college basketball.
Competition Level
You will choose one of two competition levels that best describes your team's style of play.
Recreational
For the "weekend warrior" who plays on an infrequent basis for the love of the game and having a good time.
Competitive
For active players who play on a frequent basis looking for a more competitive experience than at the recreational level.
Entry Confirmation
Nike Basketball 3ON3 Tournament processes team entry forms in the order they're received. Teams who have submitted complete entry forms and the full registration fee by the deadlines will be guaranteed entry into the tournament. Teams will continue being accepted into Nike Basketball 3ON3 Tournament on a space-available basis once the deadlines have passed.
Once a team's entry has been processed and the team has been assigned a number, Nike Basketball 3ON3 Tournament will send or e-mail a letter of confirmation to the team captain. The letter serves as the team's official notification of acceptance into the tournament, and must be kept for use as identification when picking up the team packet at Nokia Plaza at L.A. LIVE on Friday, August 9th from 4-8pm or Saturday, August 10th from 8-10am.
It is very important that teams review and verify the player and team information contained in the confirmation letter. If mistakes are found, the team captain should contact the Nike 3ON3 office immediately. If you don't receive a confirmation by August 7th, 2013, please call the Nike Basketball 3ON3 Tournament office at 877.234.8425. This process enables Nike Basketball 3ON3 Tournament to accurately bracket teams.
